There is no doubt that legislation providing licensing of online poker rooms will be included in both Federal and certain State congressional sessions before the end of this year. With so much momentum to reduce the federal and state deficits, and the inevitability of online poker play, it is likely that even if the Federal government doesn’t pass online poker licensing legislation, certain of the States that have a significant number of online poker players will pass such legislation allowing for at least a State by State licensing system.
